Updates and Corrections to 1st print
I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work on this HUGE endeavor with a world-class team of designers, illustrators, and editors. However, with such a huge project and team, there will inevitably be mistakes (#progressnotperfection!). My librarian friend says this is what makes first prints so valuable :) Corrections have been made in the digital copy, which will continue to be updated.
There is a typo in p20
Agonist: Triceps brachii is the agonist as it concentrically (not eccentrically) contracts to extend the elbow
Now it also says in the digital and translations:
Eccentric contractions occur when muscle fibres “lengthen” to change the angle of a joint. This occurs in your biceps when extending your elbow as you lower a weight or in your hamstrings when extending your knee as you transition from Warrior II to Triangle (see pp.118–21) pose.
Concentric contractions occur when the muscle fibres “shorten” to change the angle of a joint. This occurs in your biceps when flexing your elbow as you lift a weight or in your hamstrings when flexing your knee as you move into Warrior II (see pp.102-05).
I look forward to the book continuing to evolve for the next print, translations, and future editions. If you are an expert or yoga researcher, and see something that needs improvement, I invite you to send an email to SOYupdates@gmail.com or below. Please include page number if appropriate.
