Does this sound like you?
You know meditation is good for you, but distractions, excuses, and a busy schedule keep getting in the way.
You’re not sure if you’re even doing it “right” or using the most effective technique.
You’d love to share more meditation with others, but imposter syndrome kicks in hard.
You want to stay consistent, but most traditional practices require 30+ minutes a day, and that just doesn’t feel sustainable.
A long meditation retreat isn’t realistic for your life right now, but you are ready for online lessons to learn on your schedule… like a mini retreat from the comfort of home.
You crave practical, step-by-step. Many training programs feel too exclusive, too abstract, and disconnected from the real-world people you want to teach, like retirees, kids, and absolute beginners.
Maybe you’re also a yoga teacher who wants to go beyond poses and offer a deeper, more authentic experience.
If you’re a yoga teacher, you know that most teacher trainings barely scratch the surface when it comes to meditation.
People tell me all the time that they feel unprepared and unsure how to guide students in this essential aspect of yoga confidently.
On top of that, most yoga trainings just teach mantra or mindfulness. There are so many other, research-backed styles of meditation to explore and teach!
That's why I created the Meditation for the Real World Teacher Training:
to help you make meditation practical, adaptable, and realistic for everyday life.
These days, I use it while waiting at the doctor’s office, feeding my baby, sitting in traffic, or trying to fall asleep. My meditation habit is often just 10 minutes, but it fits my life—and it works.
You’ll feel the shift immediately with research-backed, targeted practices. You’ll also learn how to confidently share them with your students.
After all, the best meditation is the one you actually do. And when your students stick with it, they will feel the difference and keep coming back to you.
Here’s What You’ll Walk Away With:
✅ Short, flexible practices to build a strong meditation habit.
✅ Confidence to guide others (no more imposter syndrome!)
✅ Step-by-step tech guidance on how to record and share meditations.
✅ Strategies for teaching people with health conditions and at all life stages.
✅ A toolkit that honors tradition and embraces modern science.
✅ New opportunities in wellness, education, and healthcare.
✅ A path to turn your knowledge into income.
Explore meditation’s history and science, master therapeutic tools for anxiety, sleep, and focus, and learn how to write and record meditations with confidence, guided by Ann’s expertise and supported with live calls and 1:1 mentorship.
What Makes This Training So Different:
✅ Save time with scripts and clear step-by-step instructions.
From One-Minute Meditations to 10-minute, targeted practices, you’ll get the tools to deliver right away.
✅ Develop a sustainable meditation practice with the help of habit science.
Overcome imposter syndrome by grounding yourself in real-life experience, not just theory, so you can guide others with ease.
✅ No tech experience needed.
Follow simple tutorials to write, record, edit, and share audio meditations using just your phone or laptop.
✅ Keep your students coming back.
Learn tools that create lasting change by tapping into nervous system regulation, vagus nerve activation, and focus-building techniques.
✅ Offer SAFE and effective practices to diverse groups.
Acquire the tools to effectively teach children, older adults, and neurodivergent students, including those with ADHD. Learn to adapt for people with mental health conditions and what to avoid to be safe.
✅ Honor the roots and expand your toolkit.
Deepen your teaching with many traditions from yoga to Buddhism. Explore new methods such as Tibetan Tonglen and Zen Walking Meditation.
✅ Stand out in a crowded market.
Studios are saturated. Use meditation to open doors in healthcare, schools, community centers, and corporate wellness, and earn more while doing it.
✅ Turn what you learn into income with a purpose.
Learn how to record meditations from start to finish and share them on platforms like Insight Timer, YouTube, and Spotify, or send directly to your students.

Hi! I’m Ann Swanson, MS, LMT, C-IAYT, E-RYT500.
Listen, I’m not a monk or guru. I’m a science-based educator who has spent the last 15+ years helping real people fit meditation into their busy, messy lives. I specialize in teaching busy people with busy minds… who feel like they can’t meditate.
I’ve dealt with chronic joint pain, bouts of social anxiety, and a deep fear of medical procedures. Meditation didn’t come naturally to me either. I actually walked out of my first meditation retreat at age 19. Back then, I wasn’t exactly the “chill” type.
So if traditional meditation feels intimidating or unrealistic, I get it. That’s why I created the Meditation for the Real World Teacher Training. It offers simple, effective practices that actually fit into your life and work.
I believe short techniques, done consistently, can create lasting change. And when you feel the benefits for yourself, meditation shifts from something you “should” do to something you want to do.
This certification reveals the science-backed tools that worked for me and the step-by-step process I’ve used to teach thousands of others how to start small, build momentum, and create a life-changing meditation habit for themselves and their students.
Certified in & Recognized by:
I love teaching, in fact, I’ve been teaching yoga, meditation, tai chi, massage, and anatomy… for over 15 years.
Throughout this time, I’ve had countless students tell me how much they’ve enjoyed the way I teach and how I’m able to break down the research into digestible and inspiring bite-sized pieces that they understand.
“The research based, the relevancy, the usefulness… and it’s so interesting. I just love it! I mean, I could write a story about it.”
—Dorothy (Durga), yoga teacher.
“[During one of my classes] I found myself just shouting out research stuff. And I want to thank you because I have ingrained it so much… I felt like a lot of people were more interested in yoga than they would have been.”
—Paulett Amburn, Yoga Teacher RYT 200.

After completing this course you will have enough skills and expertise to guide others. You will also be confident enough to pursue your goals. You can lead workshops, group classes, 1:1 sessions, or sell meditations or meditation courses online.
With knowledge of science-backed, therapeutic practices, many of my students pursue teaching in hospitals, schools, retirement communities, or other settings beyond the studio. Open up a world of possibilities!

My training is through a mix of traditions from my studies in India and China to my Master of Science graduate degree in Yoga Therapy. I teach many traditional techniques, but I focus on the ones the scientific research explores and confirms most.
It is not religious. Anyone of any religion can practice. We will also explore the scientific differences between meditation and prayer.
You’ll build a broad, science-backed toolbox.
So we cover a wide variety of techniques for specific therapeutic situations (and the science to support them), including:
Walking meditations that reduce blood sugar spikes.
Grounding practices proven to lower inflammation.
Yoga nidra & NSDR to reduce pain (and even drop opioid use).
Compassion practices (including Metta) that enhance immunity.
Harvard-developed Relaxation Response to lower blood pressure.
Tibetan Tonglen to process grief (a profound, often overlooked practice I studied while in Tibet).
Also, of course, Mindfulness, Mantra, Focused Attention, Open Monitoring, Visualization, and more! Techniques are drawn from the Yoga Tradition, Buddhism, various cultures, and research.
This is non-lineage and expansive since meditation is not one size fits all.
